Zoidvolutions
Simply
follow the guidelines below, get your Zoid approved, obtain it in a
Loot Quest and post your Zoidvolution in the store once obtained.
Evolution of a Zoid
A
Zoid can only evolve once it has physically and mentally bonded with
its pilot. The seven tasks to complete to achieve evolution are as
follows:
1. Zoid owned for at least ½ year (Real time) - No large (unexplained) breaks in activity. 2. Exchange of respect between pilot and Zoid (In a previous RP; post a link to it in Approval topic). 3. Bonding triggered by a past traumatic event (In a previous RP; post a link to it in Approval topic). 4. 6 battles fought (Post link to each battle in Approval topic). 5. Bond stronger than life itself/Willing to give life for each other (In a previous RP; post a link to it in Approval topic). 6. 3 battles won (Post link to each battle in Approval topic). 7. Zoid owned for at least 9 months (Real time) - No large (unexplained) breaks in activity.
To
evolve, the first three items must be achieved. The fourth must be one
of the two battle items. The fifth/sixth can be any of the rest.
There
are two things that can trigger an evolution once any five of the seven
tasks have been completed: 1) The Zoid is backed into a corner and
requires evolution to protect/save itself and its pilot, or 2) It is
triggered by a traumatic/special event or an Organoid in RP.
A 5 task evolution will allow the following upgrades at a cost of 40 RP Credits:
- New physical form for the Zoid. - Minor speed, agility, hardpoint (exterior and interior), heat index, and CPU slots upgrades (Up to 40%). - Minor BASE armor upgrade (Up to 40%).
A 6 task evolution will allow the following upgrades at a cost of 50 RP Credits:
- New physical form for the Zoid. - Minor speed, agility, hardpoint (exterior and interior), heat index, and CPU slots upgrades (Up to 50%). - Minor BASE armor upgrade (Up to 50%). - Increased DP on up to 3 special abilities (Up to 50%). -
One new ability to be added to the Zoid’s special abilities, but must
be connected to the reason the Zoid is evolving OR what it is evolving
into.
A 7 task evolution will allow the following upgrades at a cost of 60 RP Credits:
- New physical form for the Zoid. - Minor speed, agility, hardpoint (exterior and interior), heat index, and CPU slots upgrades (Up to 60%). - BASE armor upgrade (Up to 60%). - Increased DP (Up to 60%) and additional effects can be added to special abilities (As per the restrictions below). -
Integration and Redesign of after-market weaponry and internal systems.
Armor, Coatings and items listed later on as restricted cannot be
integrated or upgraded. Any weapons changed in this manner cannot be
unequipped after the transformation. External hard points, internal
slots, or CPU slots previously taken up by these integrated parts DO
NOT become available again once integrated. The part remains and takes
up the same amount of room; it is merely fused with the Zoid and
strengthened in this manner. Therefore no space is freed by doing this. -
Two new abilities to be added to the Zoid’s special abilities, but must
be connected to the reason the Zoid is evolving OR what it is evolving
into.
Detailed Instructions
-
All physical alterations must be approved by at least 3 staff members
(one of whom must be from a different team) and upgrades may be subject
to reductions based on your submitted RPs. - In all situations, upgrades are judged on a case by case basis by the Admins and Team Captains. -
Base Speed cannot surpass 15 for heavy Zoids, 20 for medium and 25 for
light (aerial Zoids are allowed a Base Speed of an additional 5 speed
per class). - Base Agility cannot surpass 25 for heavy and 50 for all others. -
No armor upgrades can go beyond +40% (5 task), +50% (6 task), or +60%
(7 task) of their base value. Increases WILL have an effect on the
Zoid’s weight class should they go over the thresholds below. This
means they will have to adhere to the Speed and Agility rulings above
for their new classification. Values given are for all armor values
combined (body, head, tail, limbs, etc.): Up to 399 = Light Class.
400-500 = Medium Class. 501+ = Heavy Class. -
Additional limbs will also go towards changing the Zoid’s weight class.
Bear in mind that splitting limbs or granting your Zoid additional
limbs through an evolution will affect your armor distribution. Extra
limbs are not automatically granted the same amount of armor as their
predecessors; you must redistribute the armor accordingly. For
instance, if your Zoid starts out with four legs at 50 ARM each, for a
total of 200 ARM, and you evolve it to have eight legs with a maximum
armor increase of 50%, that would give you 300 ARM to distribute
amongst your eight legs.
A
redesigned Zoid frame/appearance must remain in the same form (i.e. If
you have a wolf it can’t become a bird, it can only evolve into another
wolf type. Dinosaurs can evolve into lizards and pterosaurs to birds,
however, because a real evolution precedent has already been
established for these in history).
All
upgraded abilities/attacks can have up to 40% (5 task), 50% (6 task),
or 60% (7 task) added DP. A 7-task evolution may also add to what the
weapon does. All invented attacks may only perform two feats (i.e.
damage/splash, damage/stunning). Any attack involving a stun option may
only stun the opponent for one or two actions, and must have a
reasonable usage limitation; also, the stun feature must require a
charge of a number of feats equivalent to the number of actions for
which the opponent can be stunned. Invented attacks may do up to 100
DP. Those created from parts may do the same DP as the part with slight
additions on a case by case basis by the judge (up to 50% added DP).
The
only way to obtain the evolution is through an RP quest (a Loot Quest).
The quest must earn the pilot at least 100 RP credits to be considered
legitimate. The evolution can be triggered by the ultimate sacrifices
made by the pilot and Zoid, or a stunning revelation that forces the
Zoid into a corner. Once in a corner, the animal reverts to its
instincts and evolves to save itself.
An
Approval topic must be posted with the original and upgraded stats as
well as links to all tasks completed so that moderators can decide if
they are all met. A brief synopsis of the LQ must also be posted so the
moderators can decide if it is valid to evolve a Zoid. Admins/Team
Captains may allow one or more tasks to be completed WITHIN the loot
quest; however, extra effort with the loot quest will be expected if
this is the case (meaning you will require more than the basic 100 RP
Credits).
As
a side note, since the Zoidvolution itself is the reason for the quest
the RP credits will be put toward funding the evolution, and will not
be retained by the pilot. In exceptional cases, a judge may bestow a
slight reward in the form of RP Credits, but this will not be a large
sum.
Exempt/Restricted Equipment
The following items cannot gain any bonuses from Evolving unless otherwise stated:
NanoTech Armor Stealth System Guardian Angel All CAS Units Simulex Components (Can be integrated, but a basic Simulex System cannot be installed over the top of it) Organic Psycom System (Can be integrated, but a basic OPS cannot be installed over the top of it) Ex-Force Cannon (No Damage upgrade can be added, but you may add a new effect)
