The Parts Store experience

With Brads lightning Saix battle on hold Brad was bored around base and decided to check out the parts store that was relatively close to his team base. So he packed up some gear, made some food, and double checked over Jax so his Zoid would be ready because Brad has learned that anything can happen.

Walking through a parts warehouse, Brad was admiring an assortment of rare, expensive weapons for his Lightning Saix. “Man! I wish I had the cash to get these parts. I would be pretty tough with them. Maybe if I win my next up and coming battle I will reward Jax.” thought Brad. As he started to head to the door he looked around and lost focus and ran into a cart.

Brad felt pretty embarrassed and looked up and a guy was looking right at him. Brad smiled and said, “Hey sorry about that. I got distracted by some of the amazing parts here.” The guy answered back with, “It’s no problem man. I am just in here getting parts for my Lightning Saix.” Brad surprised said, “That’s cool! I have a Lightning Saix too. Oh by the way my name is Brad. Brad Barker.” The guy smiled and said, “Hey Brad my name is Chaz. I am guessing that is your Lightning Saix outside?” “You got it”, said Brad. Chaz looked to the door of the store, stared walking and said, “He looked sharp while I was walking by. How is that Nanotech Armour? “It is definitely worth the money. That armor has helped me out several times.[/i][i] Let’s get you checked out and I want to check out your Zoid. Is it here?” responded Brad. “Yeah, He is outside. Ill check out and we can head that way.” Brad excited because he has not had much time around other Lightning Saix headed to the door but got distracted by a gum ball machine while Chaz checked out.

They headed out the door as the sunlight hit them in the face. “What a great day”, said Brad as he chewed his bubble gum. “No kidding. Well here is my Lightning Saix. His name is Turbo.” Brad looked at the Zoid and was pretty impressed. Chaz’s Zoid had another shot cannon mounted on the top but he did not update the stock armor like Brads. Brad complimented Chaz on his Zoid and they continued to talk as a group of Zoids arrived, jumped out, and ran into the store. There was three Zoids total which consisted of two Descats and a Dark Horn. The Descats were not very equipped but the Dark Horn had some work done. Chaz looked at Brad and said, “Somebody is in a hurry.” Brad puzzled responded back, “Yeah, no kidding I wonder what is up.”

A couple minutes later there was a loud bang and the three guys ran out with their hands full of Zoid parts and a bag of cash. Chaz and Brad, caught off guard, watched the pilots run to their Zoids as the shop owner ran and said, “Stop those guys! They just stole those parts and my money!” One of the pilots turned towards us and fired a couple shots at Brad and Chaz. With the shots nearly hitting them they ran and jumped behind Jax for cover. The three pilots took off as the two climbed to their feet and they looked at each other. Pissed off Brad looked at Chaz and said, “Lets get those guys. Nobody shoots at me.” Chaz got fired up and the two took off in their Zoids after the robbers.

“To catch these guys we are going to have to run together to streamline draft our Zoids. This will max the speed of our Lightning Saix and make us catch them in no time”, said Brad. Chaz responded, "Okay! I will bring my Zoid closer.” The two lined up side by side staggered and the Lightning Saix speed rose considerably. The two stared to catch the three Zoids and Brad lined up a shot with his double laser and fired! Six shots went screaming toward one of the Descats and connected.

 The shots knocked the Descat into the other Descat and went down and slowed the other Descat. After than Brad lined up and started firing at the Dark Horn but the heavy armor absorbed the shots. Chaz, as they passed the fallen Descat, slashed at him with his sharp claws to ensure that he would not be a problem again. Brad sped ahead as the other Descat and Dark horn drifted around the corner of a hill to get out of the line of fire.

Brad with his adrenalin rushing, flew around the corner to nearly collide with the Dark Horn. They had turned around as soon as they hit the corner to get on the offense. Brad not sure what to do because he was the only one against the two Zoids, Brad made a move but the fire power from the two Zoids was impossible to avoid and he took some damage. Chaz came over the radio, “Brad! I am right here.” Brad said, “as soon as you get around the corner begin firing your double lasers to distract the fire from me.

Chaz shot around the corner and opened up fire and hit the Descat several times but it was not enough to take it down. The Descat turned and began firing at Chaz. Chaz on the defense pounced sideways and shot his laser cannon hitting directly on the body which knocked the Descat out. This left just the Dark Horn. Ready to fire the Dark Horn fired it’s rail gun at Brad. Immediately Brad flipped the switch to his Nanotech Armour to begin the charging and dodged the fire.

 Chaz turned and mashed the trigger down to release a wave of bullets straight at the Dark Horn. The shots drilled the rail gun and the body causing some damage and disabling the rail gun. This made the Dark Horn much easier to fight. Brad flipped around and the two opened up fire on the Dark Horn to take him down. It would nearly take everything they had to damage the heavy armor of this particular Zoid. The Dark Horn with nowhere to run came over the radio and said, “Okay you got me. I give up.” Brad and Chaz ceased as the police approached to take the robbers away. 

They returned to the store to talk to the police and the store owner. The store owner was extremely happy that everything had been turned back over to him said, “I am so grateful that you guys helped me. They would have gotten away if I didn’t have your guys help.” “No problem”, said Chaz. “We were glad to help out”, said Brad. The shop owner then handed out of the bag a reward of 500 for Brad and Chaz for stopping the robbers and walked back into the store.

Brad looked at Chaz and said, “What a day huh?” “You said it. Maybe we can do that again sometime" said Chaz. "It is always a good time to hangout with fellow Lightning Saix pilots.” Brad replied, “Yeah definitely. Let’s just hope we are not stopping another robbery. Give me a ring sometime when you’re in the area. It is getting late and I need to get back to base and prepare for my up and coming battle with another Lightning Saix on the High Guard team.” “Good luck! You should do fine if you performed like you did today”, answered Chaz. “Thanks man. Ill need it”, Said Brad as he walked to Jax and shot off into the open field to get back to base before night fall to start getting Jax ready for battle!

The weather started to pound down as Brad got about twenty miles away from the team sniper base. "This weather is pretty depressing isn't it Jax?" said Brad as he piloted through the down pour. Jax answered with a roooaaarrr. "You said it buddy", said Brad. Only a couple miles to go and they were home free.

What felt like an hour went by Brad pulled up to base and parked Jax in the hanger. Brad moved Jax over to the mechanic bay to get him ready for his repairs that needed to take place before his battle, which was ready to begin any day now. Brad walked out of the hanger to get changed and something to eat. While he was eating he filled in a couple of the guys about what happened today at the parts store. One team mate said to Brad, “Brad how are you falling into these battles all the time.” Brad not sure how to answer took a bite out of his sandwich and said, “I do not know…I guess I am just in the right spots at the right time for them. So does anybody want to help me out with the repairs on Jax?” Just like that everybody had something to do. Brad smirked and walked back to the hanger to do some repairs on Jax.

The armor was in good shape thanks to the recharge that the nanotech system that Brad purchased a while back. He just had some welding to do and to rearm Jax for the large usage of shells against the Dark Horn. While working away Brad started to think to himself that he could be just about ready to upgrade his Zoid after his next battle. Do not get Brad wrong he loved Jax but the Lightning Saix armor was extremely light and without Chaz there today Brad would have been beaten by those guys. So he started to consider his options while he finished his repairs on Jax.

Brad was starting to get better and could, at this point, be strong enough to get a more high performance Zoid. Brad sat down in front of a computer and started to research the Zoids he could handle at this level. He was not planning on doing anything until after his first battle though. Bad pulled up many Zoids and after a while he narrowed his search down to a Blade Liger, a Shield Liger, and if one could be found a Liger Zero. He really liked all three but unfortunately all three were hard to come by and parts were nearly impossible to find. This did not stop him though. Brad decided he would start looking for the three tomorrow.

The next day Brad took a truck from the hanger and set out to check out some dealer that a team mate told him about that was around 3 hours from base. Several hours later brad got out of the bad weather which felt like was always around base and he pulled in a parking lot to a very large warehouse/building complex. He walked into the door and his eyes shot open. The whole building was packed full of Zoids. “Wow! There must be over 70 Zoids in here!” A voice answered back, “There are actually 80 in stock right now counting the back room.” A tall gentleman in a black suit walked up to Brad and introduced himself. He asked if he was looking for anything in particular. Brad answered back, “I am actually looking for three hard to come by Zoids; a Blade Liger, a Shield Liger, or a Liger Zero.” “You have exquisite taste Sir. I do not have a Blade or a Zero but I just got in an amazing Shield Liger. It is in the back if you wish to see it?” said the salesman. "Yes certainly I am very interested. Lead the way sir”, said Brad.

The salesman led Brad back into a room where there were about ten more Zoids and there it was, an extremely good looking Shield Liger. Brad was very impressed and the salesman told him to jump up into the cockpit to see how it felt. Brad climbed up and took a seat and started thinking to himself, “This is really nice but I just don’t feel right with this Liger."

 Brad climbed back down and the salesman said, “So, what do you think? You want to make an offer?” Brad said back, “This is an awesome Zoid but it just does nothing felt right. I cannot explain it.” The salesman smiled and said, “Hey, you got to find that Zoid that bonds with you. You will know when you find it. Since you came all this way is there anything else you want to check out while you are here?” Brad smiled and answered back, “Thank You but no. You do have an awesome dealership here though. I may come back when you get new Zoids in.” The salesman walked Brad out and Brad jumped into the truck and took off.

Headed down the road Brad was enjoying the radio and the sunshine when out of nowhere Brad’s truck got kicked sideways by a bullet. Confused, Brad jerked the wheel back over to straighten the car up and he looked in his rear view mirror and spotted two Zoids behind him coming up fast. Not sure what to do he jerked the truck back off the road into the desert/field to try to lose them between the hills that were ahead. Another set of shots came and barreled into the sides of the hills as Brad made the turn in between them. Brad was surrounded by two hills and a tight trail that was just wide enough unfortunately for his truck and the Zoids. There were two Zoids tailing him and there was nowhere to go nor could he outrun them if he did have somewhere to go. There was a break into another field ahead and all he had to do was make it to there to get out of the line of fire.

With the pedal to the metal Brad knew he had to get away because if he was caught, he was more than likely going to die. The Zoids flew around the corner behind him. As Brad took the corner he spotted a trail up the hill that if he could get to the Zoids would not be able to follow. Brad went for it! He started to fly up the hill side but the Zoids were just too close. One of the Zoids fired a shot and rolled the truck. The truck went tumbling into the rocky face of the hill.

Brad stumbled out of the truck and he was hurt pretty bad. The Zoids came forward and the pilot came over the loud speaker and said, “Thought you could get away from us huh!? Now, give me all your cash and anything else you got[i].” Brad still holding his ground said, “What if I don’t?” “Then you will die!”,[/i] as the speaker booms towards Brad. Brad with no options started to empty his pockets and throwing his stuff on the ground then spotted something off in the distance. Not sure what it was he kept emptying and the object kept getting closer every second. One of the Zoid pilots noticed it coming up and told the other pilot with him that they had company. Before the other one could react two cannon shots came rifling towards the Zoids and drilled one of them directly for a head shot which completely froze up the system of the Zoid. The other Zoid jumped to the offense, charging the oncoming mystery Zoid. All of a sudden the mystery Zoid began to glow and the Zoid jumped into the air and slashed right through the Zoid!

The Zoid landed and Brad was able to make out the Zoid at this point. He could not believe his eyes. It was a white Liger Zero. He walked forward to the Zoid expecting to hear a voice come from the cockpit but he heard nothing. The white Liger approached Brad and let out a soft roar. Brad looked up at the Liger and said, “Thank you for saving me whoever is in there. I owe you my gratitude.” The cockpit opened and the Liger bent down but nobody was in there! Brad thought to himself, “Could this be a wild Liger Zero? It cannot be!” The Liger than growled and Brad answered, “You want me to get in?” Another growl screamed with a head nod. Brad climbed in. As soon as he set down he felt this felling come over him. This had to be his Zoid. It felt so good and nothing like his Uncles Liger he piloted so much before. Brad ran his hands over the controls and he just wanted to scream of joy that he found a wild Liger Zero!

Liger closed the cockpit and turned and took off the way Brad was headed but now the Liger had a pilot. Brad felt a new feeling of power and confidence set over him as he headed back to base with the Liger Zero. He could not believe this was real. He could not believe he had a white Liger Zero! Ten minutes ago he thought he was dead and then the Liger showed up and saved him. It was a godsend. Brad just soaked up all he could on the way back to base because he knew he was going to need some medical attention before he could pilot the Liger Zero again

On the way to base Brad was feeling pretty hurt but the bleeding had stopped. He was not sure how to explain this to the team back at base but he felt pretty bad about the truck being wrecked. It was an accident he knew but those trucks are not cheap! He also did not think that anybody would believe that he found a white Liger Zero that was in the wild and it actually saved his life. O well, the Liger should be enough to prove that.

As they arrived at base a couple of guys walked into the hanger as Brad rolled in with his new Liger Zero. The guys were extremely puzzled that Brad had left a couple hours ago and came back with such a rare Zoid. Brad walked up to them and they immediately came up and grabbed him so he would not fall. Brad was extremely weak, he had lost a lot of blood in the accident and needed to get some medical attention. One guy grabbed the med kit and called the doctor.

They laid Brad down and Brad felt pretty light headed. At the same time though he was getting questions from every which way asking about the Liger in the team hanger and how did all this happen. Brad's eyes rolled back into his head and he passed out..

He woke up the next morning with bandages all over his body. He was not sure if that was a dream or not but when he woke up it felt pretty real. He was incredibly sore from the accident. A couple of guys walked in and they were shaking their head and wondering what had happened to him. Brad sat them down and told them the whole story from checking out the Shield Liger to the Liger Zero saving his life from the rebels that tried to mug him on his way home.

 One of the guys said after Brad finished the story, "Brad you are not allowed to go anywhere alone anymore. You are pretty unlucky when it comes to rebels and other bad guys." Brad smiled and said, " I do not need to be worried anymore. I have my Liger Zero now to help me out. He is indestructable." Everybody in the room agreed that it was a very impressive Zoid. Brad got up a couple hours later and stumbled out to see his new found friend and to talk to Jax so he would know what was going on. While he was out checking over the Liger he noticed that he had some damage on some of the body parts. Brad said, "Liger we have to get you patched up. Did somebody try to capture you?" The Liger set out a light roar and Brad said, "I will get to work on you as soon as I can lift my arms Liger!Thank again parter!"

20 RP credits. I'd advise you to really read through your posts carefully before putting them up, Brad. Even reading them out loud to yourself can be very helpful. There are several times when your sentences become run-ons due to a severe lack of punctuation. Commas are your friend. Also, and this may just be me being nitpicky, but having all of the dialogue in blue kind of bothers my eyes a bit. If you're trying to make it easier to read and distinguish, I'd suggest letting the dialogue be its own separate line instead of setting it in the middle of the paragraph. Keep working!
